  This photo must have been taken before the end of 1909, and as young Eddie seems to be a young teenager, probably after 1905. On his death certificate of Andries Pieter his son Pieter Dirk Hendrik Hauman Hamman Steyn is still regarded as a minor -- but notice the moustache! He was born in 1889, so he was 20 at the time of his father's death.

Andries Pieter Steyn was born at Wynkeldershoek (Malmesbury) on 1847.07.22 and died at 62 years old in the Diakonees Hospital in Cape Town on 1909.12.24. He was married to Aletta Johanna Dorothea Hamman on 1871.10.23 by Dr Andrew Murray. They had 15 children: 8 boys and 7 girls.
